Now, I'm resurrecting a dead classic here, but today my discussion is on Decipher's Star Wars CCG. I started playing it way back when I was a kid, and as a fan of both Star Wars and Magic, it was hard. My parents made it a little easier by disliking the images printed on Magic the Gathering, and a family obsession starting with my father and uncle with the Star Wars franchise. So, while it did compete for my attention, I acquired a large collection of the CCG.
What I didn't collect a lot of was capital star ships. Which in the game is terrible. The main scoring mechanism is draining your opponents force, which is done by controlling locations on the "map" uncontested. When these locations are in outer-space, its really, really hard when all you have is a tie fighter and they have a Mon Calamari Cruiser. There were a few recourses, like loading up your planet side sites and making you enemy hurt there, or place a un-piloted star fighter on the site and including some ridiculously good pilot in it, equipping it with a legendary weapon, and flying at your opponent like some kamikaze pilot. But other than that, you had nothing.
So, if you decide to brave e-bay and scour thrift stores and card shops to be one of the most devoted Star Wars and card game fans ever, remember, find those capital star ships, or you're toast. In fact, if you get the cards together, drop me a line, I'd love to have some one to play. Catch you next time.

It's Good to Be Right, But Where Are We Going?
So, I've felt a small amount of pride within my gaming group that I correctly called the dire events of the second recent Innistrad set, that Nahiri was bringing down an Eldarazi on the unsuspecting plane of Innistrad. I had felt the clues were obvious, but admittedly I read more of the games lore that most people. One question has been hanging over my thoughts, though, since the reveal that Emrakul was coming to Innistrad. What happens now?
I have a few theories, but the more info I watch on the set, the less sure I am about my ideas. I do think it's awesome that Lilianna stands up and fights the evil that is Emrakul, using what she knows best, zombies. I'm also excited to try and get my hands on the new Eldrazi cards. They look awesome. I just hope this new story arc doesn't end in the destruction of Innistrad like the invasion of Mirrodin ended with its fall.
I look forward to seeing more of Eldritch Moon, and I hope you do to. Till next time.

A Soon To Be Longer List
Do you have a favorite trading card game that has gone by the wayside? Do you really want to look up obscure games based on your favorite properties and wish that they were still in print? If you answer yes to either of those questions, then have I got a deal for you. Totally free of charge, the TCG Index will soon be adding 23 more games! That more than doubles our current number of listings.
Sadly, many of these games will only have a token number of cards listed on the index, as I have only collected a pack or two, or even just some promos, for most of them. But I hold out hope that from support of fans like you and serendipity, I might be able to create a more complete listing. Thanks for you help! I'll post more as the games get added and the pages get loaded.

A New Beginning
So, I've written a TCG Index blog before in the past, but I've found that I really hate the Wordpress interface. Nothing on the blog really seemed popular or important, so I just deleted it. So, now on to bigger and better things.
Firstly, I'll probably be posting more often now, as Blogger has really simple interface on Android, so I can blog on the go. Also, I've recently had my time really freed up, so I'm going to be writing a lot more.
So here's to a fresh start!
